Desirae is a newly matriculated undergraduate student. She will be graduating from Avon High School where she developed many creative hobbies such as making digital art and writing poetry for the school’s Literary Arts Magazine. Additionally, she has been active in her high school’s athletic community, being a Coxswain for the Crew Team. Some of her academic achievements include being featured on the honor roll and becoming a member of the National Honors Society. Through her membership, Desirae has volunteered at Gifts of Love – an organization that provides families with food, clothing, linens, and furniture to mitigate short term financial crises and local food insecurity. Desirae says she is “very excited to be attending UConn, and becoming a part of the community.” Her future goal is to find a satisfying career and explore the majors of marketing, business, computer science, engineering, and political science.
