Kelly is graduating with a Doctor of Medicine degree, having received honors in all of her clinical clerkship rotations. Her efforts has been recognized by the Professional Honors in Leadership and Professional Honors in Scholarship. Her nominator did not hesitate to state that “Kelly is our top student.”
Kelly’s dedication and commitment to her expertise is visible in her academic career here at UConn. She has volunteered in the Migrant Farm Workers Clinic, been co-president of the Surgery Interest Group and served on the Medical-Dental Student Government as their Historian, where she previously held the positions of Social Chair and Treasurer. Additionally, she has served as a representative of Undergraduate Education Course Policy Committee and the Global Surgery Student Alliance Annual Symposium’s co-president. Kelly also recently completed a Research Fellowship Year in Pediatric and Adult Sports Medicine at University of Utah.
Kelly is not only a high achieving student, but she has also made great strides in contributing to medical research. She has conducted research in more than twenty projects, thirteen of which were published as peer-reviewed manuscripts, in addition to contributing toward seven podium and poster presentations during medical school. She has receive professional honors in both leadership and scholarship.
When she is not busy doing all that, Kelly enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, backpacking, portrait and landscape photography, visiting national park and exploring and local restaurants and bakeries.
Kelly’s valuable additions to the field of medicine will continue, as she will be pursuing a residency at Washington University in Orthopedic Surgery.
