Lauren Sposito

Lauren will be earning a Ratcliffe Hicks Associates of applied science degree in Animal Science. An exceptional student, Lauren has been recognized with the Willard H. Allen Scholarship for her academic excellence, leadership, and integrity. She has also been awarded the RHSA Award of Excellence for graduating with the highest total grade point average, as well as making the Dean’s List. Her nominator describes Lauren as “studious and extremely motivated to succeed.”

Lauren’s hands on experience from working at the campus Livestock Units as a Farm Management trainee has allowed her to learn proper methods of medication administration and management techniques. Her precision and detailed dedication is recognized by those around her, and Lauren’s continued enthusiasm for the field of veterinary medicine is well reflected in her decision to continue her education in the College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources. Her foundation within the RHSA has provided her with the knowledge that will greatly benefit her moving forward.

Lauren also spends her time drawing, painting and participating in the Paws and Claws club on campus; an organization that “promotes the welfare of animals and educates the public about animal-related issues” by lending animal shelters a hand.

Lauren plans to complete her bachelors degree in Animal Science at UConn starting in the fall and passionately looks to pursuing a career in animal care, and possibly continuing her education to become a veterinarian or vet technician.
