Through their Emergency Fund for Afghan Women, Vital Voices is working to get immediate support to women in Afghanistan; “meeting the immediate life-or-death needs of these women; setting up mid-term support to address urgent basic needs; and planning for long-term resettlement with dignity.” WAW is a grassroots civil society organization that “works to help Afghan women and girls exercise their rights to pursue their individual potential to self-determination, and to representation in all areas of life—political, social, cultural, and economic.” both in Afghanistan and the U.S. Women need support most when caught in the midst of conflict. To reach women in their most critical moments, Women for Women International works with partners who can respond to conflict and make an immediate impact. IWMF works to unleash the power of women journalists to transform the global news media.  Donate directly to women journalists in need in Afghanistan and attempting to flee.
